We all have that special person in our sphere, who just blows us away with their “being”.
Maybe they are a single parent doing an awesome job, or they are a kick-ass volunteer making a difference in the community, running the local club, doing Meals on Wheels, using their special skills for good, coaching the soccer team or they are the ones who are ALWAYS cooking or doing childcare or offering other kind gestures for everyone else. You know the people - the selfless ones who you are always the first to put their hand up and help. I could name about ten people in my circle right now. The ones that bind us all together as a community.
Perhaps they are a friend who has had a health crisis and they are out from the depths of that and deserve something a little special. Or it could just be that you reckon this person deserves to be thanked, recognised and rewarded because they are awesome for just getting through life and sometimes it’s all just a bit of a sh*t sandwich for them.
Those crazy Covid years have shown all of us how to be kind, how to be resilient, how to get through the days and how to support each other. If you have that someone who you think would value family photographs, be chuffed by you nominating them and would probably not otherwise think to do this for themselves, let’s make their day.
Kirsten Delaney Photography will donate four photoshoots a year to “Nominate a Mate”. The offer will include:
a pre-shoot phone consult to find out all about the family
a one-hour family photoshoot at their home or somewhere special outdoors
a cinematic viewing to see all their beautiful images
the full set of high-resolution digital files
a 10” x 15” box-framed canvas of their favourite image
HOW do you nominate a friend? Simply contact me by email with a story about your mate and why you think they are worth it! Tell me about their family, what they do that makes you adore them, be in awe of them or just want to be them when you grow up.
Winners will be chosen at the end of January, April, July and October. Their personal “story” will stay with me and not broadcast to the world, unless they want to showcase their awesomeness.
What’s in it for me? My special skill is not cooking or coaching, it’s photography. And taking photos that make people feel good makes me feel good too. That’s all :)
